This year, the main technological novelty of COMSTAR-UTS will be wireless broadband Internet based on mobile WiMAX. A formal announcement on initiation of user subscription to the service and presentation of the original corporate style of COMSTAR-WiMAX service will be made at the company’s exposition stand on May 12, the day of exposition opening. Mobile WiMAX is an important component of the seamless information and communication environment being created by the operator in Moscow, and combined with other access technologies (ADSL, Wi-Fi) this service will allow subscribers to stay connected to the Internet even outside buildings in nearly all regions of the capital, including when moving along the city. This is a unique project for our country, and it is especially important for residents and companies of Moscow who are active consumers of telecom services.

COMSTAR-UTS exposition stand may be used to test COMSTAR-WiMAX service (wimax.comstar.ru) in real time. Visitors are also invited to test other components of the common communication environment: STREAM home Internet channel (www.stream.ru) and COMSTAR-FON service (fon.comstar.ru). Stand visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with a whole range of up-to-date broadband services that make up a personalized service bundle for a COMSTAR subscriber. First of all, this includes digital television (IPTV), including high-definition television (HDTV), and other entertaining services (video on demand, Internet radio, karaoke) accessed via TV interface, as well as STREAM24 multimedia portal services (www.stream24.ru): anti-virus on-line stores of licensed digital content (music, games, software), STREAM.Photo multifunctional photo hosting, where Svyaz-Expocomm 2009 photo gallery will be posted and regularly updated. At the exposition, a new section of STREAM24 – STREAM.Books will be presented. It will become available for all Internet users in May.

Moscow City Telephone Network being a part of COMSTAR-UTS will present to exposition visitors a whole set of Triple Play services: fixed voice, broadband Internet and interactive digital TV as well as innovative services: Parental Control, Turbo Button, Personal Telephone, etc. During the whole period of holding the exposition, its visitors will be able to use the stand directly to employ inquiry services of 009 – one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date databases in Russia including more than 550,000 references for various subjects, 6.5 million telephone numbers, more than 650 various services, including services of great social importance, such as job search, ordering home delivery of drugs, consultation services provided by specialists in different areas – from lawyers to psychologists, voyage schedule and train and airplane tickets ordering, taxi call, and many more.
