In the period from January till July 2003, MMC Norilsk Nickel sold 175,235 tons of nickel (compared with 117,199 tons in the same period of 2002). Sales of copper, including exports and domestic sales, made up 258,138 tons (compared with 230,411 tons in the same period last year). Thus domestic sales of nickel made up 7,255 tons (compared with 6,947 tons in January - July last year).
Maksim Finsky, Deputy Chairman of MMC Norilsk Nickel Management Board, has informed about it. Mr.Finsky has also said that sales of palladium in seven months this year made up 84 % of an annual quota. The company has agreed upon conclusion of new agreements on deliveries of palladium to China and South Korea. All palladium which Norilsk Nickel is producing now is being sold. 70 % of palladium produced is realized through intermediate and long-term contracts, and the rest 30 % - through short-term contracts and spot markets. |
