OJSC “Bashkirenergo” contemplate a possibility to expand cooperation with SIEMENS

OJSC “Bashkirenergo” contemplates a possibility to expand cooperation with SIEMENS, one of the world’s leaders in the sphere of power engineering equipment production. The possible cooperation was discussed by representatives of subsidiary electric grid companies of OJSC “Bashkirenergo” (BashRES LLC and BSK LLC) and representatives of Siemens AG in Russia on the business meeting which took place on June 6, 2012 in Ufa.

Present at the meeting were Andrey Makarov, the General Director of OJSC “Bashkirenergo”, Yuri Shevelev, the director of BashRE LLC, Ramil Ishmaev, the Director of BSK LLC as well as chief engineers and heads of relevant departments of both greed companies.

SIEMENS was represented by Vladimir Melnikov, the Director of Corporate Accounts, Vladimir Boiko, Head of Power industry automation Department and by leading experts and engineers of the company in the sphere of smart grids, medium tension equipment, protective relaying and automation.

During the meeting the host side familiarized representatives of SIEMENS with current situation at the republic’s power supply network. As Yuri Shevelev, the director of BashRE LLC, mentioned, the principal objectives of enterprise are quality and stable power supply of consumers located at the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as creation of modern infrastructure making possible to overcome performance limitations on power transmission and reduction of losses in grids.

The representatives of SIEMENS told about conception of smart grids, efficient solutions in the sphere of protective relaying and automation of power grids and medium voltage distributing gears. It was noted that SIEMENS has key technologies for creation of intelligent and power efficient grids ensuring continuous power flows between large and small power stations and consumers, as well as supporting match between generation and consumption.

In the course of negotiations representatives of both companies discussed variety of joint actions on further development of the power supply network of Bashkortostan. In particular, implementation of a pilot project on installation of SIEMES’s smart grid technology in the area of BashRES LLC responsibility may become one the milestones in cooperation.

During the business meeting the representatives of SIEMENS visited 110 kW electric substation “Zapadnaya” located in Ufa which is typical in terms of structure and technologies for most of 575 working 35-110 kW substations of BashRES LLC.

Andrey Makarov, the General Director of OJSC “Bashkirenergo” summarized results of the business meeting:

- At present we are interested in implementation of modern and innovative technologies at the power supply network of Bashkortostan. In this respect we have many points of interaction with SIEMENS. Today we consider a possibility of application of the above manufacturer’s equipment at the facilities of Bashkirenergo. I think, the efficiency and reliability of this project may become a driver for further extension of our partnership.

Vladimir Melnikov, the Director of Corporate Accounts, has also showed interest in further cooperation:

– Our trip to Ufa was very fruitful. The republic’s electric power system is in the process of renovation and development, SIEMENS is ready to actively participate in it.
