The Board of Directors meeting at Gazprom headquarters is in session.
The Board of Directors reviewed the information on increasing natural gas supplies to Kaliningradskaya oblast as stipulated by the Federal target program of the region’s development up to the year 2010.
Gazprom Management Committee was commissioned to elaborate a plan of increasing gas supplies to Kaliningradskaya oblast and construction of an underground gas storage facility with the participation of Beltransgaz and Lietuvos Dujos.
The authorization to contact the Government of the Russian Federation regarding the federal government bodies’ resolutions preparation was also issued. These resolutions include:
- on optimization of Kaliningradskaya oblast energy balance in 2006-2020 based on the regional energy conservation program;
- on positioning Kaliningradskaya oblast within a separate price range so that the price structure reflects the compensation of all costs born by Gazprom, including gas transportation expenses and an adequate profits level.
Reference:
In 2004 Gazprom supplied 636 million cubic meters of gas to the oblast’s consumers (the Minsk-Vilnius-Kaunas-Kaliningrad gas pipeline annual throughput capacity is 640 million cubic meters). In order to implement the Federal target program of Kaliningradskaya oblast development up to the year 2010 that stipulates the pipeline’s capacity increase to 1.05 billion cubic meters of gas in 2005, a 63 km looping is currently under construction in Lithuania, Shakai flow metering station, and Krasnoznamenskaya compressor station located in Kalinigradskaya oblast, are being overhauled.
