Paris yesterday hosted the IV meeting of the Coordinating Committee for Cooperation Deepening between Gazprom and Gaz de France. The Russian and French delegations were led by Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee & Gazexport’s Director General and Jean-Marie Dauger, Senior Executive Vice-President of Gaz de France, respectively.
Alexander Medvedev and Jean-Marie Dauger addressed the outlook of additional gas marketing in France and adjoining countries, discussing potential cooperation in LNG projects, gas projects in Central and Southeast Europe and North-European gas pipeline construction.
The parties resolved to continue consultations within the NEGP project that would foster enhanced safety of gas supply to Europe and meet the booming gas demand on the European market.
The meeting also reviewed matters in relation to the preparation of a solemn ceremony to be held on the occasion of the 30-year anniversary of Russian-French cooperation in the gas industry.

Being one of the largest gas firms in Europe, Gaz de France specializes in natural gas exploration, production, marketing and distribution.
Since the beginning of cooperation in the gas supply sector back in September 1975, Gazprom has provided Gaz de France with over 250 bcm of gas, including with 11.2, 13.3 and 4.9 bcm over 2003, 2004 and the five months of 2005, respectively.
On 28 June 2003, Gazprom and Gaz de France signed a Memorandum on cooperation deepening. In addition to the gas supply business, Gaz de France and Gazprom have cooperated in the power saving, transmission infrastructure debottlenecking, gas loss reduction, underground gas storage facility construction & operation, liquefied natural gas production and staff qualification upgrading sectors.
