Gazprom’s Headquarters has hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of JSC Gazprom’s Management Committee and Alexander Mikhailov, Governor of the Kursk region.
The meeting addressed the implementation of a Cooperation Agreement between Gazprom and the Kursk region, dealing, in particular, with matters surrounding gas supplies to the region in the 2005-06 period.
A. Miller and A. Mikhailov deliberated on the construction of a gas lateral to and automated gas distribution station in the settlement of Kastornoye, underscoring that said infrastructure commissioning was due 2005, as scheduled earlier.
The regional consumers’ gas debt repayment was a focus of the meeting. The parties emphasized that issues relative to gas supplies to the region will be reviewed with the account of the progress in the fulfillment by the regional authorities of its commitments to Gazprom.

Last year, Gazprom provided the regional customers with over 1.8 bcm of gas. As of 1 September 2005, natural gas deliveries to the region accounted for 1.1 bcm.
Over the nine months of this year, the Kursk region’s consumers’ gas debt decreased more than RUR 11 mln, still reaching however a high of RUR 166 mln as of 1 September 2005, with the bulk of the arrears owed by the population (some RUR 120 mln).
The natural gas supply infrastructure of the Kursk region is developed by 54.2 percent, including by 75.2 and 25.7 percent in the cities, towns & localities and rural area, respectively. The identical Russia-averaged parameters account for 53, 60 and 34.7 percent, respectively.
