Rosseti has introduced large-scale projects in the field of construction of "digital" electrical substations and overhead transmission lines, using new technologies of overhead lines construction based on supports of composite materials and insulating traverses. The Projects provide an opportunity for the development of a domestic market of electrical equipment manufacturers.
The Projects were presented by the First Deputy Director General for Technical Policy of JSC Rosseti - Roman Berdnikov - at the first meeting of the working group for the selection of national projects on introduction of innovative technologies and advanced materials into the energy sector, which was held under the supervision of the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation - Aleksandr Novak.
The event was also attended by the representatives of the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations (FASO) of the Russian Federation, the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, development institutions and energy companies.
The Project of a "digital" substation, operating in IEC 61850 international format, allows to virtualize all substation automation systems on a single production server, which leads to reduction of materials consumption during the design of such facilities, compared with traditional technologies, as well as to creation of a possibility of remote control and data exchange between a dispatcher and substation software service. The Project creates an opportunity to use domestic technologies and import substitution development.
The second Project is the use of supports (made of composite materials) that can facilitate the construction of overhead lines in remote areas, ensure the organization of the soonest possible rescue and recovery operations at the damaged sections of overhead lines, reduce the time of overhead lines construction and labour costs connected with the installation of supports, provide an increased reliability of overhead lines operation in areas with soft soil, reduce the number of overhead lines shutting-downs due to reverse overlaps, and eliminate the risk of supports cascade falling in the ice-prone areas.
In addition, a "compact" design of overhead lines with supports of composite materials and insulating traverses allows to increase lines capacity, compared to overhead lines with supports of traditional design.
Rosseti's Projects was among the first to be approved for "National" status being assigned to them. In the near future there will be prepared a detailed analysis of economic parameters of the Project and possible support measures.
Aleksandr Novak noted that until 2018 it is planned to implement at least 20 national projects on introduction of innovative technologies and advanced materials in the energy sector and instructed the industry companies to speed up their work on selection of innovative technologies in the fuel and energy sector.
For Reference
The working group for the selection of national projects on introduction of innovative technologies and advanced materials into the energy sector has been established for the selection of innovative projects characterized by a high degree of technological maturity that can substantially reduce the economic costs of companies, provide energy security of the country and reduce dependence of the industry on external factors impact. This activity is carried out in the framework of implementation of the "Introduction of Innovative Technologies and Advanced Materials in Fuel and Energy Complex" Action Plan ("Roadmap") for the period until 2018, approved by the Federal Government of the Russian Federation on July 3, 2014 No.1217-r.
