Moscow, Russian Federation — Mobile TeleSystems PJSC (“MTS” – NYSE: MBT; MOEX: MTSS), the leading telecommunications provider in Russia and the CIS, announces that Sistema PJSFC (LSE: SSA, MOEX: AFKS), the parent company of MTS with effective ownership stake in MTS of 50.03 per cent, has received the decision by the Republic of Bashkortostan Arbitration Court to partially satisfy claims brought by Rosneft PJSC, Bashneft PJSOC and the Republic of Bashkortostan against the Sistema PJSFC and Sistema Invest JSC.
According to the decision, the court has ordered Sistema PJSFC and Sistema-Invest JSC to pay damages of RUB 136,273,554,065.
Sistema PJSFC disagrees with the court decision and will file an appeal with the Eighteenth Arbitration Court of Appeal in Chelyabinsk within the time limit prescribed by the law. The decision of the Republic of Bashkortostan Arbitration Court will not come into legal effect until such time as the appeal court makes its decision.

This court decision does not impede the operational activities of MTS as well as does not impact the company's existing debt instruments.
